Caring for Your New Charcuterie Board

Proper care is key to keeping a new board around for decades. When you notice your board looking dry, apply a thin layer of board oil to renew its beauty and enrich the wood. This will prevent rotting and cracking while highlighting the natural wood colors.

At Divine Grain, our preferred board oil is the original Walrus Oil recipe that's now used by thousands of woodworkers worldwide. It is made of Coconut Oil, Pure Mineral Oil, Vitamin E, and Beeswax. It is FDA compliant for food contact surfaces such as cutting boards and butcher blocks.

Walrus Oil comes in a liquid form and does not solidify under normal conditions, it’s shelf-stable and has virtually no scent. It goes on smooth, not too thick and not too thin, and won't contaminate food with a strange taste. It will leave your board with a silky smooth finish, rich color, and a little shine.

Easy Care Instructions

1. Hand wash cutting board with light soap and let it dry. Sand down any rough parts with steel wool or sandpaper if available.

2. Apply a thin layer of Walrus Oil to all surfaces.

3. Allow 12 to 24 hours to dry.

4. Wipe away excess oil (if there is any).

5. If desired, to add more color, richness, shine and water protection, apply Walrus Oil Wood wax.

Finished! Your Divine Grain Charcuterie Board should look semi-glossy and silky smooth, ready to share with your loved ones.

Keep it Beautiful.
